Because of a late notification of run directions and a threat of rain, a small but keen pack of Bush hashers gathered at the south end car park at Tomato lake .
We set off on the run following not just chalk arrows but works of art .Bananarama and Rice baby had used left over plaster balls from Floss and Dave the Poms home renovation to create the neatest ,thickest and densest arrows I have ever seen in all my years of hashing .Boring had informed me that they were set on the previous day and they had withstood overnight showers and they still looked fresh and new.
What really amazed me was that where the car tyres had run over the arrows, instead of fading the arrows ,the tyres just picked up the excess plaster and stamped out even more clear arrows on the road.
The run zig zagged around the lake and the hares managed to keep most of the run within the beautiful park .There were two jetty stops ,which provided good photo opportunities and a chance to take in the scenery.
There was also an obstacle course built into the run.The first was a huge rope climbing frame which was popular with the kids, and then later we came across some work out machines for all us fitness fanatics.
The park was a great venue with toilets barbecues and a playground nearby. The run was well thought out and set. After the circle we could listen to the free jazz concert that the local council had provided for us at the other end of the park.
